Evaluation of Eustachian Tube Function on Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media

Introduction: Many literatures reported that poor aeration in the middle ear due to Eustachian tubedysfunction is an important factor plays a role causing acute and chronic otitis media.Objective: To assess tube function (ETF) confirm condition duringsurgery on suppurative media (CSOM) patients.Method: This study employed prospective design, which participants were examined for ETF beforeand after surgery. The examination used Toynbee’s procedure with impedance audiometry. examinationresults analysed using Pearson’s product-moment test p < 0.05.Results: average patient’s age was 36.27 ± 5.98 years, range of 12 67 years. Mostparticipants had no cholesteatoma (59.89%), perforation (50.00%), experienced conductive hearing loss(54.54%). There significant difference between during surgery (p = 0.439).Conclusion: most CSOM patient total impaired open Eustachiantube.
